Represented Credit Suisse within the JCP EC, this is a senior group of members that guide the evolution of Java technology through the Java Community Process (JCP).

Both the British Banking Association and the European Banking Federation have created working groups to help regulators to understand cloud computing and to support its effective regulation. I represent Credit Suisse within these groups.

Technical mentor for Fintech accelerator program in London, providing support and guidance to early start Fintech companies - specifically how to deliver into the banking sector.

I own and defend the technology strategies for the investment bank. My primary focus is on empowering engineers to make the best decisions while protecting and directing the enterprise to achieve its strategic aims. I have created thoughtful solutions to support this; minimum bar standards, that represent invariant controls to be applied to all engineering activities, technical biases that represent the organisation’s combined wisdom (and opinion) regarding specific technologies and associated use cases.My current focus is migrating all Credit Suisse’s application estate to a private cloud installation. This is a complex program that impacts existing brownfield as well as greenfield applications. I am running the application ecosystem work stream that sets the directs for applications to move forward, leveraging modern technologies such as docker, swarm, kubernetes .… This program is a major change to the way Credit Suisse operates, with projected saves of over $10om annually, through increased utilisation and efficiency.I ran a technical enablement project to enable an inventory rationalisation program, this program reduced allocated costs to the investment bank by $192m per year.Prior projects included, software deployment automation (with $10m efficiency save), HTML security analysis, Linux platform uplift and more.I provides commercial aware product ownership and guidance across a variety of contracts, as an example, I managed the exit from Coherence to an open source alternative with multi-million license cost saving.As the Head of the Development ‘job family’ for EMEA, I have direct control over a CHF 100k training budget.

Communicating, and defending the target state architecture for the FX organisation. The main focus during my period in architecture was to develop a single FX platform for the whole bank (investment bank and private bank). The investment bank was also looking to develop a single bank target state, I managed FX's engagement. I was also responsible for supporting many technology initatives that were going on within CS, I lead a bank wide 'SWAT" team that provided technology solutions to overcome adoptiion impediments for a windows 7 roll out. With my support this roll out finished inside a year for nearly all bank assets.

My group was responsible for the development of common components to be deployed across fixed income, and for ensuring the quality of developed solution across the department.

Worked on a variety of projects, providing technical leadership as required. Developed strategic architecture for Fixed Income across Cash and Listed Derivative trading products. Sat on the EMEA senior management group.

Worked on credit derivatives trading system, responsible for building P&L explained system for end of day reporting

Designed and built Unix server services primarily written in C++ & Java and Perl to extend and enhance the Global bond trading system. Designed and built a new position and pricing solution for next generation trading system. Lead code integration from multiple contributing teams. Provided Level three support for mission critical technology assets.

Built innovative micro payment ecommerce system for the web. Solely responsible for the design and engineering of infrastructure architecture in Java on Solaris 7. Maintained and supported the company Solaris network. Wrote Java coding standards to allow ISO9000 certification.

Developed insurance management software in C++, responsible for build automation / tooling. Responsible for installing and maintaining the Unix (AIX) build environment.

Developed fraud detection software for telecoms sector using neural networks and rules based algorithms, (developed in C++ with embedded SQL). Performed systems administration of the HPUX network including management of Clearcase installation.

Technical Support specialising in Unix development tools. On-site porting consultancy, throughout Europe for Unix subsystem in windows.
