SphereBuilder, a Software as a Service (SaaS) model company, provided industry leading CRM, website hosting and email marketing technology solutions to real estate brokerages and their agents. -Single-handedly created the entire technology solution from the ground-up by utilizing existing Open Source tools and technologies such as PHP (Smarty, PEAR), SugarCRM, and MySQL. -Designed and implemented a technology solution that was immediately recognized as an industry leading product, and quickly attracted $1.5M in angel funding.-Architected and implemented a high availability cluster to provide SaaS hosting for over 5,000 agents nationwide. This included over 1,500 websites which generated a sustained average of 400 queries per second and served over 10 million HTTP requests daily. The cluster consisted of technologies such as RedHat/CentOS Linux, Ultra Monkey(Linux-HA and Linux Virtual Server), pfSense, memchached, lighttpd, Apache, MySQL, Postfix, Courier POP/IMAP, MyDNS, etc.-Managed all phases of the software development process including prioritizing feature requests from customers and the sales force, tasking the technology team and organizing Quality Assurance efforts and deployment. Technologies included Subversion (SVN), Trac, Open Source Trouble Ticket System (OTRS), VMware ESXi, etc. -Advertised, interviewed, hired and managed a small team of technology staff, including technical support, application developers and graphic artists.-Researched, initiated and managed all technology related vendor relationships including colocation facilities, Internet service providers, network administrators, etc.-Supported the sales staff during all phases of the sales cycle, including customer hand-holding during final integration and product launch. Designed and managed development and implementation of a new recurring billing/subscription service using Perl. Assisted the engineering team in creating and optimizing numerous CGI reports and administrative interfaces.

Responsible for designing and managing the development of the front end interface to the company's 'core' technologies using PHP. Designed the integration aspect of the web-application to serve as an extension to an e-retailer's 'shopping cart' and provide bi-directional communication with the e-retailer via XML. Provided all System Administration duties for the web applications group; maintenance of Linux servers running Apache and MySQL, SaMBa, FTP, etc. Designed and implemented a revision controlled, database backed, file system layout scheme to support the multitude of input and output files needed for the 'core' technology's processing.

Support was provided through a first level domestic and second level international on-call rotation schedule. Responsible for building and upgrading Sun hardware and OS, installing and upgrading Sun software packages. Responsible for interviewing and acquiring departmental requirements for Help Desk needs, designing and implementing defined Help Desk applications and providing end-user training, support and documentation. Developed multiple API applications in C to increase the functionality of ARS, including on-call rotational scheduling, group notifications with enhanced messaging and paging abilities, and custom Web (CGI) interfaces. Supported over two hundred worldwide users via phone, e-mail, training sessions and with detailed workflow documentation.

Support covered software installation and configuration, modem/FAX communications, hardware installation and setup, data conversion and maintenance, graphic, font and printing issues. Developed numerous macros and scripts for various software applications to automate data conversion, printing, communications, and document formatting. Also designed and developed numerous applications in C/C++, and Visual BASIC to automate data conversion from multiple formats and layouts to a proprietary format. Developed a Linux (BSD) based, FAX On Demand auto-update server in C. Server received FAX images from customers and updated the customer's FAX on demand application.
