I am a Computer-Aided Design Instructor, specializing in AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Revit at Ventura Adult and Continuing Education, which is part of the Ventura Unified School District. As a State of California credentialed teacher, I bring to the classroom over thirty years of experience in residential and commercial architectural and structural drafting, permit expediting, project management and site coordination.I have more than twenty years of extensive experience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Revit Architecture. I've taught both day and evening classes in AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Revit. I've passed the SolidWorks CSWA exam.Differentiating the lessons to the individual needs of my students is a lot like working on job sites. There are similarities between projects but each project was, and each student is, unique. My background and experience in the construction field have proven to be very valuable tools for me as a teacher. My previous experience performing value engineering reviews and red-lining for errors and omissions help me demonstrate in the classroom how important the little details are. My experience making presentations to Planning Commissions and expediting permits helped me bridge the teacher/student divide. My strong analytical and organizational skills, along with detailed project documentation ability and the flexibility needed to adapt to the fluid changes inherent in the Architectural project design environment now serve me well as I help my students master the software and succeed in their job searches.
