My responsibilities included:• Preparation of project milestones and overall timeline for site refresh.• Communicate and co-ordinate requirements for web developers and designers on user interface design and information architecture.• Working with senior executives to pitch new business, expanding business opportunities and grow the brand.• Chairing regular meetings with developers, sales staff and stakeholders.• Optimising content for both user satisfaction and SEO objectives.• Commissioning new content for web use, and back engineer same for magazine use.• Overseeing creation of blog content, creating site community and strengthening SEO.• The research and implementation of compression and format solution for web display of video content.• Management of graphics, illustrations and logos; commission all new graphic content from in-house design team.• Conducting competitor analysis and using this to assess comparable product performance and design new products.• Working with marketing and sales team to progress promotional schedules around microsites, product releases, priority features and one-off promotions.• Establishment of an online channel via social networking sites, including Twitter, Facebook, Friendfeed, plus social bookmarking sites, including StumbleUpon, Digg and De.li.ci.ous. I achieved a following of almost 9,000 followers on Twitter for the @gadgetguysite account. The strategy was to push content, engage users, and act as an advocate for purchasers of consumer technology in cases of dissatisfaction with products.• Production of the GadgetGuy newsletters, sent to a subscriber base of more than 35,000.GadgetGuy.com.au won the Best New Technology Title at the 2007 Sun Microsystems IT Journalism Awards.
