I have worked within the Public Sector for the last 23 years and have progressed from working operationally and managing services, to my current role as Head of Strategic Procurement and Governance.I began in Children's services managing inclusive Playcentres working with children who had a range of emotional and behavioural issues before progressing to Playservice and Commissioning Manager. I guided the service through a series of operational improvements alongside a strategic positional change within the council whilst also managing a portfolio of Commissioned contracts and high-profile grant funded projects.This gave me the experience to broaden my role into a Commissioning post within Children's Services, operating in a strategic environment whilst also delivering operational commissioning projects.Broadening my Commissioning role even further, I moved from People's based to Place based Commissioning in my as Head of Environment Commissioning in 2015, adding strategic sustainability to my portfolio in 2017.I moved to Croydon council in 2019 and I am currently Head of Strategic Procurement and Governance, and recently completed a staff restructure to kick off the Procurement transformation as part of the wider Croydon Renewal Plan.
