Scott is the Director of Design and Digital Experience at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR), where he leads the museum’s digital transformation and design strategy. With a specialization in emerging technologies, transformative experience design, fabrication, and exhibition design, Scott focuses on creating immersive and inclusive experiences that engage diverse audiences both onsite and online. His work spans sectors including cultural institutions, corporations, and non-profits, reflecting his commitment to advancing human rights through innovative, digital, and physical experiences.Scott oversees key initiatives at the CMHR, including comprehensive experience planning, digital platform development, media production, Digital Asset Management, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies like AR, VR, and XR. He also leads the museum’s fabrication efforts, ensuring that digital and physical experiences align with the CMHR’s mission of promoting human rights and fostering meaningful dialogue. Leading a team of talented makers, developers, artists, designers, and subject matter experts – projects emphasize collaboration, inclusivity, and the empowerment of communities to share their unique perspectives.Since taking on the Director role in November 2022, Scott has spearheaded strategic innovations in both digital and design practice, focusing on sustainable, human-centered design approaches. He previously served as Acting Director of Innovation and, for over a decade, as Manager of Digital Platforms. In these roles, he led all digital experience and software development initiatives, including enterprise content management, mobile applications, and in-gallery digital installations, with a special emphasis on emerging technology.Scott also served as Selection Advisory Committee Member for Digital Museums Canada, where he contributed to the advancement of digital storytelling and innovation in cultural institutions across the country.Holding a B.F.A. from the University of Manitoba and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Graphic Design and New Media from Red River Polytech, Scott has also taught New Media at both institutions.
