My role as the government affairs manager at TIA is to bridge the gap between our almost 2,000 member companies across the country and the seemingly complicated world of public policy Washington DC.TIA, Transportation Intermediaries Association, is an association representing companies who do not physically move freight from the manufacture to the destination, but facilitate through extensive knowledge of industry and cutting edge technology. Responsibilities under my portfolio include:• Bridging the gap between membership and Congress in addition to government agencies in the executive branch;• Working with members of Congress directly in addition to their staff to support our members through legislative action;• Explaining both internally and externally how legislation will impact TIA and the direction we should take to either support or oppose certain measures germane to our membership.

Tasked with meeting with the offices of Congress members and Senators on both sides of the aisle & in both chambers. I focus on banking and financial services issues in addition to judiciary and telecom issues. Everyday responsibilities include meeting with Congressional offices, federal agencies, and stakeholders/community leaders. The position regularly entails writing official statements on behalf of the FOP to inform members of Congress on the views and priorities of our members.Selected Accomplishments:• Worked to enact legislation supporting law enforcement, keeping the public peace, and ensuring communities are safe• Increased membership participation in particular issues which were not being engaged in by law enforcement• Brought in new technology to update the office and increase the efficiency of how we run certain programs • Balanced my duties of administrating the PAC while pushing my legislative duties forward

I previously Interned for the top political consulting firm in Texas, Murphy Nasica & Associates. Murphy Nasica & Associates combines the most up to date technology, grassroots strategy and expert data combined with analytics to result in elections won. I was tasked with researching both our clientele and opponents. This information is broken down and used as needed throughout the campaign cycle.

As legislative intern, I was tasked with preparing the Senator's floor binder and committee binders. I assisted our office scheduler and assisted with the Senators personal schedule. Throughout the 84th legislative session I gained the legislative experience and knowledge of policy to expand my grasp of the Texas political scene. Senator Brandon Creighton represents Senate District 4 and is Vice Chair of Business and Commerce in addition he sits on State Affairs, Criminal Justice and Agriculture, Water and Rural Affairs. Senator Creighton is the Vice Chair of the Senate Republican Caucus.
