Prior to accepting this position the facility had lost money 5 of the last 6 years, with poor customer service and an extremely bad safety record. It was considered the worst plant in the company; by 1999 it was considered the best of its kind in the World by the CEO and Board of Directors. Full P&L, manufacturing, sales, materials, engineering, R&D.Included managing unique requirements of big box customers such as Home Depot and their stringent logistical requirements. As well as supporting 14 sales and distribution centers.Through aggressive implementation of world-class lean manufacturing techniques this facility exceeded 200% of profit plan for two plus years and record profits 5 years in a row.Increased customer fill rates from 89 to 98%, and trucks on time from 90 to 99 %. Dramatically reduced costs, increased inventory accuracy, productivity and customer satisfaction while reducing turnover and setting an all time record for continuous days without an accident.

International Game Technology (IGT) is the world’s leader in video and slot reel technology hardware and software for the gaming market both “off the shelf” and custom design. $1 Billion NYSE listed public company.Originally hired as part of a four-man startup team for IGT’s Canadian plant with responsibility for Quality Management, Manufacturing Engineering and Materials Management. After the first year assumed additional responsibility for Production, Information Technology, Test Engineering and Customer Service. Start up was structured with an $800,000 one-time investment from parent company. Included vendor development in metal fab and cast components, coating and plating, printed circuit boards, cables, harnesses, plastic injection molding, silk screening, and fiber optics. Three months to build out, equip and staff facility 9 months of operating for first year revenue. First year revenue 17 million second year revenue 25 million.Transferred to IGT’s headquarters as a Corporate Project Manager assuming responsibility for large-scale process and operations improvement projects in a multi plant environment across 18 manufacturing and distribution operations. Including ISO 9000, MRP/ERP Barcode Implementation, Process Improvement Teams, Operator Training and Certification, Intranet Quality Help Desk Development, Successive Inspection, Six Sigma-SPC, Poke Yoke, JIT, and Kan Ban.
