• Manages a team of electrical engineers and electrical designers to create initial one-line power diagrams for a new project proposals• Works to create purchase specifications for key electrical equipment to be designed into the new Frigate program• Works with potential equipment suppliers to help them understand contract requirements and to acquire proper design• Plans by analyzing work scope, developing budget and schedule targets, assessing technical risks, preparing alternative technical strategies, communicating technical guidance, and determining required departmental skill mix and resources• Develops competence by documenting skill needs, appraising capabilities of employees, requesting training in advance of required application, and participating in both formal and informal training and orientation• Administers performance evaluations and coaching for subordinates• Reviews work being performed to ensure that consistent performance is attained in developing Engineering work products• Motivates subordinates to work in teams, and to provide a high level of service to internal and external customers• Assists in negotiation of technical and design issues with customers.
