I've always wanted to get into the healthcare industry after seeing so many of my family get involved in some way but never knew where to start, so when I was presented with the opportunity of attending SOWELA and enrolling in the sterile processing program I jumped at the opportunity. Before I was involved I felt as though I needed to help more and wanted to be involved in a more social and teamwork oriented workplace. My experience includes over 400 clinical hours where I learned the process of decontaminating, inspecting, disassembling, assembling, packaging and sterilizing reusable surgical instruments and devices while at Lafayette General Medical Center and over 80 hours at CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital. During my time at SOWELA I was taught many team building exercises and communication skills that have proven invaluable during my clinical trials and I know I will continue to assist me throughout my professional career. Multiple labs at SOWELA technical community college where a team of other students and I would take on different challenges and scenarios we may encounter in the field helped me learn some of my problem solving skills that have come in handy time and time again during my time at Lafayette General Medical Center and CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital.I know with my determination and efficiency I would be a valuable asset to your facility.Thank you for viewing my page and for your consideration.Please contact me for any information or questions you may have.
