With over twenty years of experience in the payment industry and related technology market, I am recognised for building Rapidata into the UK’s leading charity partner for Direct Debit payments, Payment Loyalty and Online Fundraising. I am proud to be considered an authoritative voice for regular giving and I frequently contribute to trade media and help to prompt sector debate. I joined Rapidata in 1999 and created a new collections infrastructure, enabling the company to collect Direct Debits in 14 countries utilising nationally preferred methods of regular payment, technology and procedures. Later, I led Rapidata in the drive to convert regular giving in the UK from traditional Standing Order payments to Direct Debits as the preferred donor choice; providing nonprofits with far more efficient donations management and greater donor insight. In 2009 I established the UK’s annual Charity Direct Debit Tracking Report that provides the fundraising sector with its unique research and benchmarking resource for regular giving. Most recently, I have co-chaired with the UK’s Institute of Fundraising (IoF) on the ‘Future of Cheques for Fundraising’ after it was announced in 2011 that the UK Payments Council was scrapping its timeline to withdraw cheques from public use by 2018. I am passionate about and committed to best practice and innovation for the improvement of payments and fundraising and I’m proud to have steered Rapidata through achieving ISO 9001, ISO 22301 and ISO 27001 for the highest levels of quality standards. I am also a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD UK) and the Institute of Fundraising (IoF).
