In 1989, having just graduated from college with a degree in Systems Analysis and Design, I decided to venture into the world of real estate. I quickly realized that I was too irresponsible with my time and needed to be accountable to somebody. Five months after graduating, I found my start as a junior programmer. Through the years, I've continued designing and programming business software for multiple markets, on many platforms, and in many languages. Fast forward to 2010, with the economy still struggling, we as a family embarked on a journey that would had me shaking in my boots. Extreme Developments, has been around since the 1990s, dabbling in computer consulting while drifting in and out of its mere existence. But 2010 was different. In 2010, we had a purpose. Our backs were against the wall and it was fight or flight. With a vision and a plan, we chose to fight, and started Swimwear Experts (a division of Extreme Developments, Inc). We limped along those first few months, made a ton of mistakes, but learned from each one. We became better and smarter. Swimwear Experts (now Swimwear Development Studio) started out making patterns in our living room, having our samples sewn in a garage, and meeting in random Starbucks around Southern California.A few months later we were approached by our daughter's cross country coach who needed a uniform that would take weeks to get if ordered from their current vendor, so she asked if we could copy it. As luck would have it, we happened to have the exact same color and material, and made the uniform, which matched perfectly, and all were happy. Two months later we were asked if we wanted to make the new track uniforms for West High. Bust It Out Activewear was started in the fall of 2010.From there, we haven't looked back and continue to improve our knowledge and skills. It's been an amazing journey growing a business out of thin air. We've also managed to provide full time employment to a select few that were "downsized" by a large swimwear manufacturer as their business model changed and they decided to handle more operations overseas.We look forward to years of growth, making new business relationships, and keeping an open mind in order to learn new things every day.But you are a software developer you say, yep... I still am, and the story only gets more interesting from here. In 2016, after a near death experience, I took another leap of faith and became the Head of the Development Team. In 2023, the story will change once again, so stay tuned...
