The application is targeted at android tablets initially but had to be written as a platform independent web application. The core of the application is built as a number of SPA’s using MVC, Web Api and javascript.Responsible for the redesign of the core application originally written in VB6 webclasses and now found to be no longer fit for purpose with a number of design and architecture problems. This included introducing design patterns to the team and using modern practices and laying out new practices and coding standards that were lacking in the original work.Spearheaded the migration of source control from Visual Sourcesafe to GIT this included the implementation of new practices and required mentoring of other team members. This included exposure to modern developer tooling such as continuous integration and deployment.

The department was responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the bespoke CRM systems and consumer facing websites. Projects included consumer facing mobile and desktop developments across all platforms. Making use of the emerging capabilities of HTML5, CSS3 and adding client side functionality using javascript whilst maintaining a consistent experience across all devices and browsers. Extensive experience working with mobile sites and applications came in very useful in bringing projects in on time and budget. This role within a small business required attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure. The exposure to technologies of all different types enhances problem solving and fault finding skills.
