I built and managed a new software team at a new AWS development center in Denver, Colorado. I hired Software Development Engineers and a Research Scientist and established a culture of technical and operational excellence by leading formal and informal training, design reviews, and code reviews. We built predictive analysis systems that run on EC2, Lambda, EMR, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, and S3. Our systems analyze information gathered from the AWS network and use machine learning methods including random forest and binary logistic regression to predict networking failures before they have customer impact.

I developed Google's accounting and payment processing software systems in Java. My focus was on processing bank statements, parsing MT940 and BAIv2 files, automatically classifying transactions described in the bank statements. During my time on the team, the processing of the vast majority of Google's revenue was moved from a third party processor onto the bespoke system designed and developed by my team.

My first role at Google was on the Production Monitoring team, on which I implemented, tested, and deployed improved user isolation for one of Google's primary monitoring systems, allowing for better monitoring and mitigation of large queries to the database of historical production monitoring data.In my second role at Google, I managed the team responsible for production operations for Google Cloud PubSub and Google Cloud Autoscaler. I improved the team's production discipline, made workflow changes to improve overall team productivity, focused the team on long-term development tasks, and ensured successful General Availability launches of the Cloud PubSub and Cloud Autoscaler products.
