Be that proactive use of analytics to drive business value, or (the often overlooked) making sure that data is well organised, available, governed and understood. I've spent my career driving top line growth and business efficiencies with creative use of data. While I'm happy diving in to engineer and build data and analytic solutions, I've learned I can have bigger impact setting vision, building high performing teams, and through them delivering systems providing powerful, trusted and actionable business insights.I've been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to develop understanding and awareness across multiple lines of business and technology over a diverse 30-year career. Now, whenever I can, I like to lift the collective influence and value of the data and analytics community by sharing my knowledge as an author and speaker in my specialist areas of data-led value, analytics, BI, data warehousing and data mining. I've been lucky enough to hold analytic and data-centric senior management, architect and other lead roles on projects across four continents working both as a consultant and within industry in the Telco, Government, health, transport, financial services, insurance, utilities, retail and call centre sectors with a range of technologies.A long time believer that data and analytics can offer much more than the traditional view of how well an organisation performed last month, I'm happiest when working across business domains on complex problems, providing deeper understanding, experimenting, uncovering previously unknown insights, predicting future states, ultimately establishing data trust, insight and confidence to allow meaningful, decisive action.
