I worked in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict (SO/LIC) and I coordinated across DoD, the interagency and the intelligence community to provide military judgment and advice to senior DoD policy decision-makers. Most recently, I have supported the Department's COVID-19 international response, Afghanistan evacuation operations, and the war in Ukraine. Additionally, I was the primary advisor for DoD support to the Department of State's diplomatic missions abroad. I also sponsored a legislated Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) study on Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD).

COMNAVSEASYSCOM's Diving Program Division is the U.S. Navy and DoD diving technical authority. This division: •Provides cradle-to-grave service for diving equipment, policies, and procedures from basic research through prototype development, acquisition/publication, and life-cycle management. •Tests and evaluates prototype and COTS/NDI equipment. Maintains Diving Equipment AMU: This lists diving equipment, tools, and accessories which have undergone design safety reviews, testing and evaluation to ensure diver safety and acceptability. •Oversees the acquisition of initial Fleet outfitting and life-cycle management of equipment, technical manuals, instructions, and PMS. •Provides direct Fleet support for technical issues which includes Diving Advisories, Diver's AMU Feedback Form, and Support Contacts. •Exchanges information with other DOD, foreign military, and commercial counterparts. •Manages and tasks the Navy Experimental Diving Unit (NEDU). •Publishes Faceplate, a newsletter for Navy Divers.

I was responsible for the planning, programming and budgeting for the Navy's Expeditionary Combat Force in order to resource necessary and advantageous warfighting capabilities and requisite manpower, training, equipment and readiness.

I was privileged to command this extraordinary forward deployed expeditionary command that provided 11 EOD platoons and a battalion headquarters element in support of Mine Countermeasures (MCM) , Carrier Strike Group (CSG), Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG), joint and special operations task forces. I was charged with the absolute responsibility for the safety, well-being, training, equipping and employment of my command of 22 officers and 130 enlisted Sailors. We safely and successfully conducted over 60 Phase 0 ("Shaping") operations in 22 different countries across U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM). These operations supported our maritime and National strategies, assuring regional stability, security and prosperity.I am humbled to have served this command during high tempo, dispersed and high-risk operations across the vast, dynamic and politically sensitive Pacific region, even as our Nation began its rebalancing to Asia Pacific.

As an Operations Planner, I led battlestaff planning and briefing efforts for all operations, major exercises and projects. Additionally, I was responsible for synchronizing staff processes and overseeing the execution of operations.As Deputy Director, Exercise Directorate, I was responsible for the direction, supervision and control of the planning, budgeting, coordination and execution of the command's worldwide training exercises.I twice deployed to Iraq: once as a Liaison Officer and once as the Commander's Operational Planning Team Leader. Additionally, I was assigned as the Commander's personal representative to US Central Command.

As XO, I was second in command. I was directly and inclusively responsible for 178 personnel spanning six departments, 15 divisions and seven worldwide deployable expeditionary diving and salvage companies. The command deployed teams to conduct combat salvage, emergent and force protection diving, battle damage repair and harbor clearance.

I was honored to be able to lead this one-of-a-kind combined, joint task force (CJTF) responsible for the command and control of specialized counter-IED (CIED) forces. Coordinated and synchronized Corps level C-IED operations, intelligence, technology and training initiatives throughout the Iraq theater of operations to defeat the IED threat.I was responsible for the operational readiness of two deployable response teams, the daily operations of three forensic laboratories, and the processing and exploitation of all Iraqi theater IED-related items of interest and the timely dissemination of weapons technical intelligence (WTI) and tactical analyses.
