Applied design engineering experience to system design challenges faced by industry customers in enterprise to consumer goods. With more than 150 design projects from internal reference designs for each new processor family to high-performance data center servers to low-power embedded computing systems, each project required attention to detail and managing subcontracted firms to meet design goals on time and on budget. While much of my time was spent architecting system designs and managing teams to implement them, my role expanded to include technical sales. Vendor selection for many product development teams requires exceeding previous performance limitations while introducing new features. With a depth of technical knowledge and a breadth of understanding relevant tradeoffs, I was able to convincingly persuade customer development teams to trust AMD processors and my team for successful implementation. Products spanned industries from data storage systems with massive numbers of drives and storage capacity to highly secure computing platforms utilizing secure boot and secure execution environments. I also participated in the One Laptop per Child project intended to create an affordable computer for children in the developing world. Some of our products resulted in shipments of 500 units, while some shipped 5 million.
