My role is predominantly focused on establishing and nurturing both internal and external strategic partnerships. These partnerships encompass a diverse array of entities such as Economic Development Organizations (EDOs), Entrepreneurial Support Organizations (ESOs), investment groups, and providers of shared commercial and laboratory space. These collaborations are critical in creating a supportive environment for our entrepreneurial ventures.In addition to my primary focus on strategic partnerships, I continue to offer guidance to a select number of spinout new ventures and maintain my position as the Chair of the Texas A&M New Ventures Competition (TNVC). My responsibilities in this capacity include leading a team of up to 10 staff and over 60 volunteers, fundraising for the competition, and aligning its objectives with the broader goals of Texas A&M Innovation. TNVC has been a catalyst for growth, awarding $3.4 million in non-dilutive funds and investment prizes over the past nine years. This support has helped propel recipient companies to secure over $570 million in funding, including multiple successful exits.My role also involves fostering synergies within the A&M System, bridging research with entrepreneurial initiatives. This includes working closely with researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors to streamline the journey from innovative ideas to market success, leveraging our robust network of partnerships. These efforts contribute significantly to launching groundbreaking technologies, driving economic growth, and creating job opportunities across Texas. -
