Implemented Oracle partitioning, bitmap indexing and star transformation. Educated ETL developers,report developers and senior IT leadership on Oracle partition design and star transformation through the use of PowerPoint presentations and live walkthroughs. Utilized NetApp Snap Clone technology to provision testing environments, created test plans, benchmarked and measured results of testing. Project resulted in reductions of report run times in an order of magnatude over what was currently running. Presented results to senior leadership and helped drive the implementation through the SDLC. Currently training ETL development team on alternative load techniques using Oracle partition exchange.PeopleSoft Financials Allocations Tuning:Key challenge of project was the fact that we could not change the application code or alter the table layout. Utilized Oracle RMAN and NetApp Snap Clone technology to create test regions where the process could be executed repeatedly in order to benchmark performance and properly measure the results of any changes that were made. Solution included a use of a trigger to set specific statistics on key PeopleSoft temporary tables to ensure that the desired plans were being used, causing a significant reduction in the allocations run time. Worked with Oracle support to re-design indexes on key PeopleSoft tables that had been partitioned.

Project utilized VBScript and SQL*Loader to extract data from a Pervasive database and the Bloomberg DataLicense system on a nightly basis and load it into an Oracle database. Worked hands-on with a team of developers and business analysts through the implementation of the Hyperion Financial Management application, working with the vendor, consultants and business partners to migrate the existing vendor system onto the new platform. Created scripts that extracted data from the existing tool utilizing SQL and VBScript to format the data in a layout that the new Hyperion Financial Management application could use. Extracted data from a multi-dimensional Essbase OLAP cube into a flat database table and utilized SQL and VBScript to format the data and load it into Hyperion Financial Management.
