Co-authored an enterprise policy on PCI-DSS compliance.• Created a detailed application architecture design, leveraging AWS Services (Aurora PostgreSQL, ECS, ECR, S3, File Gateway), MuleSoft API Gateway, and Salesforce.• Promoted the use of streamlined design artifacts to be used during agile program increment planning sessions, and the development of architecture runways to ensure roadblocks are cleared to enable agile team success.

PeopleSoft Financials 9.2 Upgrade:Working with Oracle and internal resources to upgrade from PeopleSoft Financials 9.1 to 9.2. Utilizing RMAN backup and recovery as well as NetApp Snap Clone technology to create test regions for working through specific upgrade processes. Re-wrote Oracle provided scripts in order to maintain optimizations that have been added at Lincoln, such as partitioning, custom indexing, and basic compression.Data Warehouse Re-Design/Tuning:Worked with ETL development team to redesign inefficient multi-terabyte data warehouse model. Implemented Oracle partitioning, bitmap indexing and star transformation. Educated ETL developers,report developers and senior IT leadership on Oracle partition design and star transformation through the use of PowerPoint presentations and live walkthroughs. Utilized NetApp Snap Clone technology to provision testing environments, created test plans, benchmarked and measured results of testing. Project resulted in reductions of report run times in an order of magnatude over what was currently running. Presented results to senior leadership and helped drive the implementation through the SDLC. Currently training ETL development team on alternative load techniques using Oracle partition exchange.PeopleSoft Financials Allocations Tuning:Key challenge of project was the fact that we could not change the application code or alter the table layout. Utilized Oracle RMAN and NetApp Snap Clone technology to create test regions where the process could be executed repeatedly in order to benchmark performance and properly measure the results of any changes that were made. Solution included a use of a trigger to set specific statistics on key PeopleSoft temporary tables to ensure that the desired plans were being used, causing a significant reduction in the allocations run time. Worked with Oracle support to re-design indexes on key PeopleSoft tables that had been partitioned.

Worked hands-on, leading a team of developers in the creation of expense management and financial reporting Hyperion Essbase cubes to consolidate data from multiple general ledger systems. Project consisted of extracting data from three general ledgers (mainframe VSAM, SQL Server, DB2), formatting the output and uploading it to an environment utilizing both Hyperion Essbase 7 and Hyperion Financial Management (Oracle). Created an automated mapping process, utilizing flat files, SQL*Loader and an Oracle database to map the accounts/cost centers, create reconciliation/error reports, and load output to an Essbase cube for reconciliation.Responsible for communicating merger integration status reports to senior management.Document processes in the legacy Lincoln Financial and legacy Jefferson Pilot Financial organizations to find efficiencies and opportunities for automation in processes

Managed team of developers and worked hands-on in the creation of web-based applications to support the Investment Department. Project utilized VBScript and SQL*Loader to extract data from a Pervasive database and the Bloomberg DataLicense system on a nightly basis and load it into an Oracle database. Scheduled PL/SQL stored procedures would then run to calculate and store the data in a normalized structure to allow for access via an ASP/HTML front-end. Worked hands-on with a team of developers and business analysts through the implementation of the Hyperion Financial Management application, working with the vendor, consultants and business partners to migrate the existing vendor system onto the new platform. Created scripts that extracted data from the existing tool utilizing SQL and VBScript to format the data in a layout that the new Hyperion Financial Management application could use. Extracted data from a multi-dimensional Essbase OLAP cube into a flat database table and utilized SQL and VBScript to format the data and load it into Hyperion Financial Management.

Lead developer on web-based application designed to track orphan and under-funded insurance policies. Worked with mainframe team to develop custom mainframe extracts to feed Oracle database on a nightly basis using VBScript and SQL. Worked with Oracle DBA team to design a database that would support online lookups and reporting.Created live database feed between DB2 Vantage administrative policy system and Oracle database designed to track policy surrender requests.Trained and provided support of the budget application for users in three separate locations (Greensboro NC, Omaha NE, and Concord NH)
