Profile bio

About Scott L.

Detective stories filled my childhood, from reading Raymond Chandler’s novels to watching film noir classics. In those stories, the detective was tasked with solving their client's problems. Each of the detectives had their own method of investigation, but shared common characteristics that guided them to resolve the case. You may be asking how detective stories relate to business? I recognize that many of the characteristics making for a successful detective, I use in the workplace to successful manage projects and work with project stakeholders to resolve their business issue. The common characteristics include:► Client-focused. I make sure that the delivered product meets the client's requirements and has a positive impact on their operations. Ensuring that the client is satisfied is key.► Detail-oriented. No issues forgotten, no software bugs missed. My keen attention to detail holds the end product up to a high standard to meet client expectations. ► Flexible. Even the best-laid plans don’t always go your way, so being prepared for change is important. Throughout the development of the business requirement specifications, I make sure to note potential areas of change to help the team be proactive instead of reactive. ► Problem-solver. As issues arise, I am able to analysis the problem and identify provide multiple solutions to resolve. These characteristics that helped detectives capture the criminal or find the missing item are the same I use to manage a project and implement a solution for the client.
