About Scott Kecken

Scott Kecken is an award-winning filmmaker, DGA director, writer, and producer through his company The Film Foundry. Scott directed during the last season of the critically acclaimed TV show, “The Wire” on HBO.Their debut short “Louisville” won 11 awards including Best Short at the New York Independent International Film Festival and aired on BET, PBS and Showtime. As director and producer on “Woman Hollering Creek”, the film won Best Maryland Film at the Annapolis Film Festival. Scott’s feature documentary “We Are Arabbers”, was funded by major grants from the Maryland State Arts Council and Maryland Humanities Council to document the African American folk culture of the remaining horse-and-wagon produce hucksters in Baltimore. Continuing through their roots of a visual anthropology lens combined with a love of genre, Scott continues to develop and write diverse narratives features including horror satire: “Eat, Drink, and Be Merry” and TV pilots including horror series: “Tarot” and “Whitopia” as well as travel documentary series: “13 Meals” and “Finding America”. This fall and winter, Scott will write, direct and produce his latest film, “The Bicyclist”, a Neo-realism short story.
