Scott Clarke Email and Phone Number
I like programming, solving problems (and Rubik's cubes), learning languages (both programming and linguistic), and developing/playing/speedrunning videogames. I've programmed robots, microcontrollers, FPGAs, a few small games, and plenty of other miscellaneous applications. I'm detail-oriented and committed to always putting in my best effort. My most experienced area – and the work I most enjoy – is found at the meeting point between computer hardware and software. I have programmed: - interfaces to control proprietary hardware based on extensive control protocols (C#, RS-232/485 standards). - manual and autonomous controls for FIRST Robotics Competition robots (Java). - microcontrollers to respond to user inputs or serial communication (C/ARM assembly for MSP430, C++ for Arduino). - small games, prototypes, and UIs (C# for Unity, C++ using Qt/SQLite, Java using Swing, Lua for PICO-8). - scripts for automation, testing algorithms, solving puzzles, and processing images/signals (C#/C++/Python/MATLAB/Excel). - custom UIs for controlling hardware and displaying visual overlays on live camera footage (WPF in C#/XAML). - FPGA circuit designs and simulations (Verilog for DE10-Lite using Quartus/ModelSim).I've worked as both as a team member and a team leader, mainly using Azure DevOps, Git/GitHub, and Subversion (but I have also worked on small teams with less organization). I'm experienced with implementing software architectures such as MVC and MVVM.I have experience using a wide variety of software: AutoDesk Inventor/Maya, Adobe Photoshop, Wolfram Mathematica, the Microsoft Office Suite, and many IDEs (Visual Studio, Eclipse, BlueJ, NetBeans, Code Composer, Qt Creator, Quartus Prime, IDLE). I'm skilled in technical writing, including lab reports, project proposals, design documents, post-mortem analyses, and extensive code documentation. Finally, I love to learn! Some of my favorite subjects outside of practical programming are math, theoretical computer science, physics, linguistics, philosophy, psychology, etc. Anything from trivia to etymology to differential equations and astrophysics, I am willing and eager to learn.
