As President and CEO, responsible for the overall direction and administration of Safe Harbour’s programs in accordance with the organization’s mission of providing housing and supportive services for homeless and nearly homeless individuals and families to help them achieve independence by improving their basic life skills. Manage Safe Harbour 's finances, facilities, policies, practices, staff, and the relationships between employees and the clients that they serve. Working with the Board of Directors, participate in a collaborative working effort to monitor progress and promote the growth of the organization.

Safe Harbour is a non-profit organization that provides a continuum of housing services for the homeless and potentially homeless of Cumberland County. Safe Harbour’s services include operating an emergency shelter for families and single females; a bridge housing program that helps individuals and families in need of longer-term assistance, and single-room-occupancy (SRO) permanent housing facilities for single individuals in need of additional “life support.”Responsible for directing strategic planning and implementation of all fundraising initiatives, including an Annual Campaign, major gifts and planned giving, grant development, and state and federal government appropriations. Create and manage special events, including a fundraising gala, a golf tournament, and a community sleep-out supporting homelessness awareness. Additional responsibilities include supervising and conducting government and community relations programs, including interacting and partnering with federal, state, and locally elected representatives, appointed officials, and executive staff; and directing public relations and marketing initiatives, including serving as chief spokesperson and managing social media. Accomplishments:• garnered more than $305,500 in community donations for past two fiscal years;• increased community donations by an average $31,700 per year (20.8 percent) over a two-year period;• bolstered Annual Campaign by $137,000 for the past two years;• acquired, reinvigorated, and advanced the Shomaker Golf Classic Tournament to benefit Safe Harbour, earning more than $11,600 in the first year;• worked with non-profit agency colleagues to create and implement a strategic partnership of five social services non-profit organizations in Cumberland County to increase awareness of missions and services needs, as well as raise monetary support for the agencies.

Provide guidance and recommendations to the Cumberland County Bar Foundation (CCBF) to increase awareness about the work that Cumberland County Bar Association (CCBA) members perform to improve their communities and serve those in need. Also assist the CCBF also in highlighting the charitable contributions that CCBA members provide to their communities. Provide consulting assistance regarding grant development and charitable giving to the Foundation.

Cultivated relationships with higher education institutions by working collaboratively with them to develop and implement long-term growth goals and master plans, diagnose infrastructure needs, determine socioeconomic impact, and target and acquire public and private funding.Accomplishments:• developed and implemented the company’s higher education practice, including establishing relationships and promoting company services in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York, and New Jersey;• increased practice area revenue from $30,000 in first year to estimated $125,000 in second year;• wrote, edited and submitted a $19 million grant application to the U.S. Department of Labor for a consortium of Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education universities; and • served as project manager for West Virginia Community and Technical College System open-end contract for grant writing and project development services.
