I’m a passionate technology & business manager who brings 40 years of know-how building service & product businesses, with specific knowledge in SaaS/Cloud information technology, innovation, product development, financial management, process-reengineering, and business analytics. I’ve experienced multiple technology transformations from PCs to LAN/WAN, Client/Server, Internet, IT service management, Agile, mobile, social media, SaaS, Cloud, Big Data and most recently, AI and embedded technologies. I’m adept in and enjoy the innovation and early adopter stages of technology change. As a lifelong learner, continuously retrospecting, retooling and reinventing, I’ve performed most roles in Technology, from programmer to systems analyst, business/financial analyst, project manager, program manager, strategist, CFO, CIO, COO and CEO. This allows me to easily relate to colleagues at all functional levels and roles. More recently, I’ve become a fan of MOOC (massive open online courses) for my specializations and general learning.I’m at ease in organizational cultures from Jacket & Tie to flip flops & Tee shirts, from top-down decision making to bottom-up, open allocation management systems like Holacracy. As an entrepreneurial optimist, I’ve founded, or participated in 7 startups, and have worked in or consulted to enterprise multi-nationals such as Henkel KGaA, ING and Comcast.While running a consulting business for 20 years, I helped business executives and senior IT staff to improve the effectiveness of their IT services, and in particular, their internal communications, planning, customer service, project and financial management. I’ve run predictive strategic & project planning processes with well-defined OKRs and KPIs as well as newer empirical based rolling forecasting, planning & project approaches using Agile, Scaled Agile and EOS. Additionally, I’ve developed Innovation programs to bring ‘intrepreneurialism’ into the corporate environment, with FedEx days, hackathons, self-directed work teams and Lean Start-Up.I live in Arden, DE. Have two daughters, three stepdaughters, 2 dogs & coached competitive soccer for 10 years. I enjoy studying & lecturing on transformational spirituality, as well as volunteering, for example, rebuilding homes in New Orleans & Puerto Rico after their hurricanes. I believe in mentoring and give many talks on careers in technology and soft skills development to both under-served populations and in my corporate roles.
