CrowdRise is a for profit e-ecommerce company website that uses crowdsourcing to raise charitable donations. A lot of the work that I did at CrowdRise was focused on self service software; one project example was design and implementation of a system that enabled any user to create a monthly, recurring donation subscription to a fundraiser via API. This year, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Algeria with my band Mankind Is Obsolete via the US Embassy in Algeria and the US Department of State. They contracted us to work with rock musicians in Algeria to help teach the ropes of what it means to play hard rock in a band situation. It was essentially a "School of Rock" situation.In addition to teaching daily, specialized workshops, we had an opportunity to travel throughout the northern part of the country and to perform. I can definitely say it has been the highlight of my career thus far.

Center Theatre Group is one of the nation’s leading arts and cultural organizations, and Los Angeles’ preeminent non-profit theatre company. It was here that I had the opportunity to work in an ever changing, culturally aware environment. I wore many hats at this job; my main responsibilities consisted of the following:- I spearheaded a complete revamp of their old website with a four phase approach. We had a running budget of .5 million. I acted as the onsite Information Architect and was a liaison with the web design consultant. When the new website was completed (phase 1), I acted as Webmaster and was in charge of making sure all website updates were running smoothly. We used Ektron as a CMS to make updates.- Working with the Marketing department, I created many different sub-sites (with XHTML, CSS, PHP, etc) that highlighted different theatre productions that we worked on. They were used as marketing tools to promote our shows to specific demographic populations. - As webmaster, I made sure that the various inter-company departments were all able to make updates to the website through our CMS.

My role as their primary network administrator in this company has me wearing many different hats: network administrator, webmaster, SQL server architect / dba, MS access / VBA programmer to computer technician. When I first joined the company in 2002 they had two stand-alone computers where the users were sharing data via floppy disks. Today, due to my implementations, they have a 30+ user network that utilizes SQL Server and Visual Fox Pro to store their business critical data, MS Active Directory 2000, Exchange Server 2000 and various front end applications customized to the end users needs to meet their information demands, on the second, with a 99.99% uptime. In addition to this, I performed daily computer maintenance, and also perform reports using Crystal Reports.I was responsible for designing and creating a new website from the ground up. I used a combination of CSS and JavaScript to make it work seamlessly.My job functions also included daily administrative tasks such as maintaining and performing daily tape backups with Veritas Backup Exec, adding/deleting users on the network, implementing policies, Exchange 2000 administration, troubleshooting malfunctioning computers, and other various administrative tasks.
