The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy is the nonprofit membership organization created to preserve the Golden Gate National Parks, enhance park visitors' experiences, and build a community dedicated to conserving the parks for future generations. The park extends over three counties and includes 130 miles of trails and 1,200 historic structures. I am directly responsible for overseeing 14 buildings and grounds, including care of historic buildings and maintenance of LEED-certified buildings, along with the management of a $3.2 million operational budget and control of its funding allocations. I work with various department leaders to ensure that budgets developed will meet these facilities' needs and plans for new capital construction and maintenance. One of our challenges was to ensure that COVID 19 sanitation and disinfection programs are in place, enabling facilities to reopen and maintain safe. To that end, I have directed large custodial accounts. I am also responsible for ensuring that our 66 vehicle fleet is in good operating condition.I have implemented programs to measure the life cycle of building systems and components to plan for preventive maintenance to increase longevity or replace worn and underperforming components. Highlights: Created strategic safety guide outlining reopening during the COVID 19 pandemic, signed by all business partners, providing a roadmap for safe operations during this health crisis. Procured and installed a new GPS tracking system and new fleet management software to improve the tracking of assets and staff and ensure scheduled maintenance.
