The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy is the nonprofit membership organization created to preserve the Golden Gate National Parks, enhance park visitors' experiences, and build a community dedicated to conserving the parks for future generations. The park extends over three counties and includes 130 miles of trails and 1,200 historic structures. I am directly responsible for overseeing 14 buildings and grounds, including care of historic buildings and maintenance of LEED-certified buildings, along with the management of a $3.2 million operational budget and control of its funding allocations. I work with various department leaders to ensure that budgets developed will meet these facilities' needs and plans for new capital construction and maintenance. One of our challenges was to ensure that COVID 19 sanitation and disinfection programs are in place, enabling facilities to reopen and maintain safe. To that end, I have directed large custodial accounts. I am also responsible for ensuring that our 66 vehicle fleet is in good operating condition.I have implemented programs to measure the life cycle of building systems and components to plan for preventive maintenance to increase longevity or replace worn and underperforming components. Highlights: Created strategic safety guide outlining reopening during the COVID 19 pandemic, signed by all business partners, providing a roadmap for safe operations during this health crisis.  Procured and installed a new GPS tracking system and new fleet management software to improve the tracking of assets and staff and ensure scheduled maintenance.  Improved response time for electronic work tickets by implementing a new computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Managed Global Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals for accurate HAZMAT classifications and labeling for compliance with international standards.

PJCC serves people of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds through its innovative programs and services. Located on a 12-acre site, the Center features many amenities including a 50,000 square foot Byer Athletic Center, the Koret Learning Center, and after-school facilities. As Facilities Manager, I planned and implemented construction and redevelopment projects, including management and maintenance of building systems, the aquatic and fitness Center, and other buildings and structures, and open spaces. Engineering problems were overcome to provide uninterrupted building system services, and proactive plans were launched to address the lifecycle needs of critical facility systems, equipment, and fixtures.Highlights: Managed $1.7 million facilities department budget using Workday Adaptive Planning software covering planning, consolidation, analytics, and reporting functions within a business planning cloud.  Took over a project to install a $300,000 synthetic turf and coordinated a construction schedule for five contractors, completing the project on time and within budget. Implemented the first safety training program in five years for Facilities staff, dramatically improving overall safety performance during onsite operations.

Elks Lodge #3 is the oldest operating Elks Lodge, located in the heart of San Francisco in a historic building with Spanish Gothic influences, originally constructed in 1924. Amenities located in this facility include a ballroom, health spa and fitness center. I managed facility operations in this multi-story commercial facility, supervising ten employees. We ensured that complex building and restoration maintenance issues were fully operational. I managed a $500,000 departmental budget, hired and trained personnel in safety regulations and standard operating procedures, and headed safety operations. Highlights: Wrote a safety manual and procedures to protect staff and volunteers during work activities.  Turned around persistent building system breakdowns that were forcing operations to shut down by developing a comprehensive multi-year maintenance plan. Developed a priority needs assessment, addressed the facility's most critical needs first, and implemented a preventive maintenance program to preempt breakdowns by proactively maintaining building systems and components.

As Operations Director I ensured compliance with OSHA and State regulations to ensure the safety of patrons and staff and liaised with the Mayor’s Office for special projects and events. I was the director of the Swim Club, a non-profit organization that provided inner-city youth with mentoring, coaching for character development, and swimming lessons, and coordinated long term projects for summer camp. Highlights: Successfully taught 300+ K-12 grade students from 12 public schools to swim through the swim club program. Cultivated strong community partnerships, earning Swim Club the honor of being funded by philanthropist Helen Raiser’s Legacy Foundation.• Served as the Director of Swim Club, a nonprofit organization that offered swim lesson to inner city youth, coupling swimming instruction with mentoring to produce lifelong character development.• Successfully taught 300+ K-12 grade students from 12 public schools to swim through the swim club program. • Cultivated strong community partnerships, earning Swim Club the honor of being funded by philanthropist Helen Raiser’s Legacy Foundation.
