Scott Mactavish is a filmmaker, best-selling author and Navy vet with offices in Nashville and New York City. His films are available globally via Lionsgate, Amazon, Apple TV, Vudu and other streaming platforms. His recent films as writer/producer/director include 'MURPH: The Protector,' the critically-acclaimed documentary based on the life of LT Michael Murphy, a Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient who gave his life for his men during the Lone Survivor mission in 2005. MURPH premiered in 200 Regal theaters and was a contender for the Oscar in several categories. The film debuted at #1 on iTunes, Amazon and other platforms and stayed in the top twenty for nearly a year. He also wrote, produced and directed 'Ride for Lance,' a tribute to fallen Navy SEAL Chief Lance Vaccaro, distributed globally by Lionsgate. ‘Shattered Lives’, a film based on domestic terrorism, and the true crime doc 'Under the Trestle' are now in production, and the CIA thriller 'The Widow Spy' is in development. He's the author of 'The New Dad's Survival Guide' (Little, Brown and Co.) and co-author of 'Battle Ready: Memoir of a SEAL Warrior Medic' (St. Martin's Press), now in development as a dramatic series by Joe Carnahan (The Grey, The Blacklist, State of Affairs.)Prior to launching his production company, he crewed on several dozen big-budget Hollywood features and series in various capacities ranging from production assistant to grip to stunt performer, and had several screenplays optioned by studio producers. Scott's entrepreneurial interests include technology, hospitality and real estate. His national media appearances include Fox and Friends, MSNBC, PBS, and NBC, and he has spoken at businesses and universities across the country, including Penn State and The University of Virginia. He coaches varsity soccer, and volunteers for veterans organizations and the Judeo Christian Outreach Center.
