Accepted a short-term 3-month temporary teaching position in Chichibu, Japan as a substitute English Instructor while the head instructor recovered from a heart attack. This teaching position included teaching English to native Japanese speakers of all ages (from 6 year old children to 70 year old retirees) that ranged from beginning students to expert speakers in their various English language speaking levels of proficiency. Conducted both one-on-one lessons as well as corporate group lessons. Also consulted on American business models and culture for the more professional minded students who were conducting business internationally. Also used this time in Japan to work with same English instructor, Shihan Richard Burns (6th Degree Black Belt), to train in Shotokan Karate.
