I serve as Corporate Counsel at Krause Financial Services, a company providing products and services related to crisis Medicaid planning. I advise my corporate client on matters relating to compliance, risk management, corporate finance, litigation, internal best practices, and other topics. Subject matter experience includes contract negotiations and drafting, elder law, insurance regulation, corporate structure, employment law, regulatory and legislative analysis, litigation support, ethics, and intellectual property, among others.In addition to the day-to-day legal advice I provide to the Company, I also speak at legal forums and other nationwide events. I have published an article in the NAELA Journal co-written with Company President and CEO, Dale Krause., which can be found in the featured section of my profile. I also contribute to the company blog, draft white papers, and develop litigation support materials for our network of elder law attorneys. I joined Krause Financial Services in 2019 from a litigation background. Prior to my career as a practicing attorney I clerked for Pennsylvania trial level judge. My education includes a B.A. in political science from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and a Juris Doctor degree from Penn State Law. While in law school I served in the student bar association and was also a member of the Civil Rights Appellate Clinic. I am licensed to practice law in Wisconsin (Active) and Maryland (Inactive) and am a member of the American Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Association of Corporate Counsel, among other professional organizations. Beyond my professional and educational background, I am an active member of my community. I coach hockey at the Bantam (U14) level and am a level 4 certified USA Hockey coach. I also serve on the local board of zoning appeals. I have published opinion pieces in the Appleton Post Crescent and was previously a contributor to a hockey blog.
