Perform construction inspections for major construction projects to ensure compliance with contract documents, building codes and regulations. Provide plan review and constructability comments on designs before being released for bid. Resolve in-the-field features of construction plans and specifications that are in conflict with existing features or will not work as designed. Prepare and maintain project documentation and controls including inspection logs, daily reports, force accounts, materials testing, and other construction records for complex and difficult construction projects. Conduct a variety of meetings including planning, preconstruction, coordination, progress, scheduling, safety and field staff meetings. Resolve disputes, challenges and respond to complaints from the public that require resolution at the senior level. Coordinate complex shutdown requests from contractors with tenants and Port departments. Participate in the development of Construction Management policies and procedures and constructability reviews. Proven ability to lead others and to effectively influence people without direct authority. Proven ability to recognize potential problems and resolve them in a timely manner or escalate to supervisor/manager for resolution.
