I am currently the head of import / export legal compliance globally (16 countries) for the IMI Critical Engineering division of companies, including IMI B&R, IMI CCI, IMI China, IMI InterAtiva, IMI Int'l Russia, IMI Orton, IMI Remosa, IMI STI, IMI Truflo Rona, IMI Truflo Marine and IMI Z&J. In addition to my primary compliance role, I also frequently lead special business process redesign and implementation projects.Previously, I was heading up import / export legal compliance and global logistics for Control Components Inc. (CCI). In this role I developed and managed legal compliance and operations programs for trade and technology transfers between CCI and its global customer base, and to and from CCI locations with direct staff in the US, Mexico, Canada, Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, China, India, Korea and Japan.Prior to CCI, I was a Manager with KPMG’s Trade & Customs practice. At KPMG I specialized in the design of import and export processes and controls, Customs valuation, assessing compliance with import and export laws around the world and with managing remedial action projects to mitigate exposure due to violations of trade regulations. I worked with clients from a diverse range of industries and with many internationally-based colleagues. My academic and professional experience has led to travel in 40 countries, 30 US states and the opportunity to lead or participate in several multi-national project teams.
