As Director of Client Strategy (account director/biz dev officer), I guided business development, client acquisition, and partner relationship management. In this role, I served concurrently as the account director, partnering with in-house producers to manage the overall client relationship, including planning, strategy, and relationship deepening. I was responsible for new business development and client acquisition through direct outreach, networking, conference attendance, direct meetings, and referrals in the following areas:+ Corporate social responsibility & sustainability (all sectors & industries)+ Healthcare (REITs, payors, providers and health tech)+ Financial services I designed and led the launch of agency practice in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability digital communications & platforms at Emerge. Authored the business plan for the agency’s first issue-specific practice area, including competitive landscape, capability gap, and options for sub-branding; value proposition and high-level positioning; strategic partnership structure; business development strategy; social media strategy; and more. Created new, major client relationships with prestigious clients such as Nike, The Gap, Sempra Energy, The Home Depot, Cambia Health Solutions, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), adidas, HCP Inc., and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.Negotiated with senior and C-suite level decision-makers from introduction to project completion.Represented Emerge as a panelist and speaker at several conferences, published articles, and blog posts; maintained social media accounts.

As a contract instructor, I delivered a course as part of this series of workshops on sustainability practices. My course: Digital Strategies for Communicating Sustainability explored digital communication platforms and how each fits into a digital communication strategy. The course examined CSR reports/reporting evolution, internal tools for communication, dashboards, data visualization, employee/customer/stakeholder engagement, global indexes, and brand strategy.The Sustainability Leadership Program was launched in 2003 and served nearly 1,800 individuals from more than 500 organizations. Participants came from a variety of professional backgrounds and represented a broad range of industries, including government agencies, private businesses, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and other sectors.

Charged with assisting SLOC employees in resume development, job search skills training, and career development. Also worked closely with Olympic sponsor and partner companies, as well as non-Olympic sponsor companies to negotiate salaries and start dates, and general job placement tasks for SLOC employees to aid in retention of SLOC employees through the close of the 2002 Winter Olympic games.I placed 100% of employees assigned to me.
