My initial responsibility at Ultratec was to redesign their billing system usingSQL Server. I redesigned the billing system using a Star Schema and working from business specifications provided by my manager. The system handled millions of rows of data, with greatly improved data access time to call detail records.I also completed a data warehouse project using Analysis Services in SQL Server 2000. This information was deployed through Excel using pivot tables. In 2006 I participated in our SQL Server 2005 migration. My role in this project was to ensure all functionality was duplicated in SQL Server 2005. I migrated DTS scripts into Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services and reports, and migrated our email notifications from using CDONTS to the new database mail component in SQL Server 2005.At the end of the migration I recreated our data warehouse database using SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services (SSAS). I also migrated our ETL processes from DTS to SSIS. System accounted for fourteen million rows of data spanning four years of call history information. Data warehouse data is quickly accessible using Excel pivot tables and Reporting Services for analysis. In late 2006, early 2007 I developed a new interface for captioned telephoneservice called Web CapTel. This new service gained FCC approval inDecember of 2006. The product uses a standard browser to provide captions to a hearing-impaired person, with the telephony provided by standard phone lines. I designed and developed the application using AJAX and ASP. I developed the interface, database, and underlying architecture for this new product using SQL Server 2005. Much of the development centered around using Windwws Mobile devices so the service could be delivered over a Smart Phone or PDA type device using Pocket Internet Explorer.
