    Ai For Eldercare
    Ibm Feb 2016 - Jan 2019
    Armonk, New York, Ny, Us
I developed a large, reactive graph as an infrastructure for Cognitive Eldercare -- keeping elders in their homes as long as possible and prudent. Co-deployed 700+ sensors in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Helped develop IoT data pipeline from IoT sensors all the way to the cloud. Built our graph infrastructure and devops pipeline, then loaded over 100M elements to the graph. Co-developed rules for unsupervised inference of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) from IoT sensor data. Wrote Jypyter/Python/Spark code to learn ADLs using LDA, cluster similarity metrics, and t-SNE algorithms. Used PCA to find atmospheric eigen-modes of each apartment. Wrote Bayesian infrastructure and model for actionable sleep recommendations. Created multi-year agent simulation integrating financial and care events with plans for action optimization using MDP or reinforcement learning. Repeated this process for my elderly in-laws. We kept them in their home 7 months longer than otherwise.
  • Ibm
    Big Graph Developer
    Ibm Feb 2015 - Jan 2018
    Armonk, New York, Ny, Us
Successfully prototyped a gene/protein graph database to demonstrate the power of large graph databases. Co-developed the ontology, extracted relationships (IE) from documents, and built large graph with 34M nodes. Watson Health senior technologists, including the CTO, accepted our recommendations.
  • Ibm
    Watson Development
    Ibm Aug 2011 - Mar 2016
    Armonk, New York, Ny, Us
IBM's first tech lead for Financial Services using Watson technology. Guided three clients to use cases that provided both business value and were technically feasible. Led or co-led data inventory, data de-identification and data suitability analysis. Led application of Watson NLP technology, anomaly detection and factor analysis.
  • Ibm
    Watson Expert
    Ibm May 2014 - Dec 2014
    Armonk, New York, Ny, Us
I was the Watson expert on a 4 man team to recover a troubled financial project with an important client in Asia, working closely with IBM senior management. Evaluated sentiment analysis and devised a patent for improved scoring. Evaluated the Watson NLP pipeline and classifier architectures. Convinced client sponsor what was and was not technically feasible. Created and led the project re-plan for a few months giving the project a solid foundation, which eventually led to a successful launch.
  • Ibm
