Ionex had several projects in need of work. I was hired to work full time on one of the projects to help meet deadlines. With my work, we met 95% of our deadlines on the project.Quality control on the Ionex project meant that the manufacturing department needed more detailed weld maps for manufacturing & inspection. A colleague and I designed a new document to show and number every weld. It was a significant improvement over the old design and reduced welding rework by 33%.The purchasing department needed an accurate bill of materials. I took it upon myself to help improve the accuracy by using my modeling knowledge to model all significant hardware in way that had an insignificant effect on model build time. This greatly reduced errors from hand counting and potentially saved the client thousands of dollars.

We needed to build several high-end custom crating systems and I led all design, prototyping, and manufacturing operations. With the help of 3D CAD and analysis tools, we were able to provide a superior crate for the client’s unique equipment.We needed to streamline our manufacturing processes to meet deadlines. I was constantly developing quick & safe packaging methods to stay ahead of deadlines. I also updated & calibrated tooling to perform better. With faster techniques & better tools, we met more than 80% of deadlines.We needed a way to improve our batch crating process. I made 2D assembly drawings for each crate, and helped convince the client to use a cheaper wood. These changes significantly lowered turnover time and cost.
