Soon there after I founded another online business that was ranked #46 in the prestigious INC 500 in 2006 which I also sold later in 2013. In the past I have had P&L responsibility for over 110 million in e-commerce sales for Bob’s Discount furniture with total revenues over 1.6 billion. I joined the acquiring company and took control over basically my old business as well as their existing e-commerce properties with full P & L responsibilities.As part of the process we absorbed the old operation into the headquarters of National Business Furniture in Milwaukee. The front end systems were converted from Broadvision to Microsoft Commerce Servers. The back end systems were converted from a Java based accounting system into Microsoft Great Plains / Dynamics systems with complete EDI integration. I managed every aspect of the process.When completed we had 7 web front end systems running perfectly on new state of the art back end systems with a central SQL database serving everything up.Soon after I resigned to start my new adventure Everything Furniture, focusing on Home Furniture rather than Office Furniture. I left on good terms and still have many friends at NBF.

I went through the dot com ups and downs, the world of venture capital partners, and eventually a successful sale to a large catalog operation (National Business Furniture).I programmed the first website myself with 16 items of furniture. I scanned the images at Kinkos, coded the HTML and uploaded it to the Internet with my 28.8K dial up modem, the fastest around at the time. I can still remember the first time the phone rang and someone placed an order and gave me a credit card number. I knew I was on to something.The next 4 years was a whirlwind of development, venture capital investors, hiring, growing and everything else you remember from the hectic dot com craze that hit the world by storm.
