The IDESST Sausalito Portuguese Cultural Center (formerly Sausalito Portuguese Hall) was established in Sausalito, California in 1888 as a focal point for Portuguese culture and traditions in Marin County. First and foremost is the Azorean tradition of the "Festa do Espírito Santo" (Festival of the Holy Ghost), which was brought to California by early immigrants from the Azores. The Sausalito Portuguese Cultural Center continues to serve its members, their families and future generations by preserving and promoting that Portuguese heritage into the 21st century.

Miss Unlimited is a pageant for girls with disabilities, ages 5-22, in order to inspire the beauty in us all. The “Miss Unlimited” pageant was created by a group of SI students who have been working under the direction of chemistry teacher Ms. Michelle Wynn. Their inspiration for this project was the documentary “Miss You Can Do It,” the story of Abby Curran, the first competitor in the Miss USA pageant with a disability. She, in turn, created a pageant for young girls with special needs. At this wonderful event, girls can embrace their own beauty, inside and out; the day focuses on empowerment, friendship, and feeling special - this is not a competition, rather a day to feel special. It is also great for anyone who loves to get dressed up and be on stage! The day includes icebreakers, orientation, snacks, and games. The girls will be prepped by the judges, and be given makeovers by professional stylists. The pageant will run from 5 to 7 p.m. with each girl being escorted onstage and the chance to answer a question in front of the judges and audience. If for any reason she is unable to answer a question on stage, we will have the question already answered on a notecard, and it will be read by her escort.
