Regularly have contributed feature articles to the Baseball Hall of Fame's bimonthly "Memories & Dreams" magazine. Also served as a co-author of the museum's 75th anniversary book, "The Hall: A Celebration of Baseball's Greats," published by Little, Brown and Company in the spring of 2014.

An all-volunteer charity organization, we stage monthly luncheons and a yearly black-tie Day of Champions dinner to honor local student athletes and coaches and raise money for local non-profit groups. We feature major sports headliners at our banquet. Recent celebrities have included Muhammad Ali, Joe Torre, Peyton Manning, Arnold Palmer, Cal Ripken Jr., Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Goose Gossage, Drew Brees, Clay Matthews Jr., Colin Kaepernick and Doug Flutie. Since I joined the board of directors more than 15 years ago, the club has raised more than $700,000 for local charities. During that time, I've served as dinner chair, performed question-and-answer sessions with the headliners, coordinated press conferences and edited and written much of the 70-page program we produce for each banquet.

Have contributed to more than 25 books and more than 500 articles for magazines, newspapers, websites and other publications. Twelve of my books have made best-seller lists (Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com), including three of my recent titles, "Juke Box Hero" with Lou Gramm (Triumph Books), "Memories of Yankee Stadium' (Triumph Books) and "Buffalo Bills Football Vault: The First 50 Seasons" (Whitman Publishing.) I have written for the Washington Post, New York Times, Sport magazine, The Sporting News, NFL.com, ESPN.com, Gannett News Service, Fox Sports, the National Baseball Hall of Fame as well as other organizations. As the AFC East correspondent, I've written a full page of news and notes throughout the preseason and will write comprehensive game previews on the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and New York Jets throughout the 2013 regular season and playoffs.

I provided weekly columns about the Buffalo Bills and Syracuse University basketball for our local CBS and FOX affiliates' website - www.rochesterhomepage.net - and also appeared on air for short segments following each Bills game.

My co-host Dan Borrello and I talked about the pressing and not-so-pressing issues in the world of sports, with a heavy emphasis on the Buffalo Bills, Syracuse University basketball, the NFL, college football, major league baseball, NBA, NHL (Buffalo Sabres), etc. We had national and local guests on the show every day and tried to have some fun with special features, such as having different animals from the Seneca Park Zoo pick NFL games with us each week.

Carved out my niche writing evocative, human-interest columns that had universal appeal. I was recognized with numerous national and regional awards, and received more than 10,000 e-mails and letters through the years from loyal readers of my column. I also wrote news stories and editorials on occasion. As an ambassador for the newspaper, I was often out in the public, speaking to scores of groups, mentoring students from elementary school up through college, and making television and radio appearances, locally and nationally.

I taught a junior-senior level course on sports reporting. I was consistently rated among the top adjuncts at Fisher.
