a2bTV is the premier (and largest) provider of American television programming to American citizens living overseas (expats). We maintain a data center in Los Angeles, CA and send programming to over 65 countries at any given time. I was part of a team of three people who started this company in a garage in Long Beach in the summer of 2006. As a founder and eventually CEO I helped steer the company from initial idea through our first data center in El Segundo in early 2007 and on to over 2500 square feet of space in 2012. As we grew I managed the growth of our sales and support teams to handle the increased work load. In order to maintain customer support around the world, we hired support staff in three countries representing a cross-section of time zones. We also hired sales people in strategic markets such as the US Military and high density expat markets such as Tokyo, London, Seoul and Sydney.Working with a2btv also gave me a strong grasp of international copyright law, media distribution technologies and programming partnerships throughout the world. I consider myself an expert on DMCA law and how to apply that to emerging media companies.I still retain a board seat and am active in strategic decisions of the company. We continue to grow and serve the expat market around the world and are often the closest connection to home that our customers have.

Following my time at Vinson & Dimitrius, I co-founded Isosceles Consulting, a nationally practicing jury consulting firm. We were among the first consulting firms to utilize on-line survey technology and spread that to the legal field.While working at Isosceles, I gained more exposure to top litigators throughout the country and to legal theory and precedent in business. I once again was responsible for massive AV and IT infrastructure build-outs, often at the last-minute and in far-flung areas of the country.It was during this time that I developed my passion for web development and the power of an online presence to promote and grow a business.

I was hired to manage all technology aspects of this nationally practicing jury consulting company. Upon my hire the company rapidly doubled to nearly 40 employees in the span of two months. My job consisted of running all audio/visual and IT infrastructure across the country. We would regularly setup mock trials, focus groups and other community surveys in many small towns around the US. In addition to the remote AV/Tech duties, I was also responsible for hiring an additional technician and hiring our director of IT for in-house needs.Among other things, I also managed moving three separate offices into one central downtown location, coordinating all of the tech and infrastructure along the way.This job gave me a great appreciation for and exposure to our legal system. Over the course of working in the jury consulting field, I was exposed to some of the top litigators in the country and developed a knack for great story telling and persuasive argument.

While at Pacific Video Image I focused primarily on video and film editing, though I also had a hand in production, sound, lighting and camera operator.Most of my work was corporate video and television commercial related, though I did also edit a few feature films and infomercials.While working in video editing I also became adept with motion graphics, adobe illustrator, adobe photoshop, media100 and avid video editing systems.We were among the first companies to produce commercial DVDs and I became an expert at video compression, dvd authoring and mass distribution.
