As Head of Architecture at Two Sigma, I lead the team responsible for the architecture of Two Sigma's software systems. We work with the Engineering teams to guide the design of systems and technology selection. We are the curators of technology selections at Two Sigma, maintaining a Solution Matrix of recommended languages, frameworks, and tools. The Architecture team promotes the development of the Architecture practice at Two Sigma, delivering education on Designing and Testing at Two Sigma.In addition, I lead a Special Projects team for Platform Engineering. These are the software ninjas available to tackle issues that fall between teams, and to pair up with other Engineering teams for PoC and first-of-a-kind projects.

Led the team extending Two Sigma's compute environment into the Public Cloud. Designed the initial Public Cloud proof of concept and led a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a production Data Science environment on Public Cloud. Collaborated with our Modeling Engineering team to extend our on-premise research compute environment to multiple Public Cloud providers.

Evangelist for the Jazz platform and Rational software tools with customers around the world.Scott is the Development Tools Architect for IBM's BlueMix Platform-as-a-Service. Leading the JazzHub team providing an integrated developer experience for BlueMix developers, including a Web IDE based on the Eclipse Orion technology and automated deployment to BlueMix.

Technical lead and Lead Architect for Rational's CLM solution. CLM consists of integrated source control, tracking and planning, builds, Quality Management, Requirements Management, and Design Management, and reporting across the lifecycle. Delivered in the form of the products: Rational Team Concert, Rational Quality Manager, Rational Requirements Composer, Rational Design Manager and Rational Reporting.CLM pioneered the model of loosely-coupled software lifecycle capabilities integrated using Linked Data techniques, largely based on the OSLC standards.Led the Project Management Committee which provided technical governance of the architecture and plans for delivering release of the products. Worked closely with CLM customers around the world evaluating and adopting he products.

CTO for Rational Software in Northeast Europe, on assignment in Zurich. Spent a year evangelizing our software lifecycle management tools, particularly Rational Team Concert and the other Collaborative Lifecycle Management products. Worked with customers to help them understand and adopt our tools. Established trusted relationships with customers adopting the tools and transforming their software development practices.

Architect and developer for Rational Jazz project, and Rational Team Concert. Lead designer for Jazz server. Lead developer and manager for Rational Application Developer Version 5 and 6 releases. Founding leader of Rational Tools Council.One of the founding members of the project that became Eclipse. The WebSphere Studio tools were the first consumer of Eclipse in IBM, worked very closely with the team to shape the Eclipse extensibility model. Part of the team that prototyped the Eclipse modeling framework that eventually became EMF.Named Master Inventor in 2003.

Software developer in various IBM projects ranging from client-server communications products to software development tools: IBM VisualAge for Smalltalk and IBM VisualAge for Java.Member of the WebSphere Architecture Board, contributor to Java EJB specifications. Led the team providing the WebSphere Java EE tooling. Developed several innovations in the area of object-relational mapping.

On assignment in Rome, Italy at the newly formed Rome Networking Software lab. Led a team of Italian and American developers to build an innovative new GUI client for the NetView Distribution Manager/2 software distribution product.
