Qualified Engineering Officer of the Watch, I fulfilled the senior critical engineering position; directing and executing the training, qualification, and professional development of Naval Officer trainees on propulsion plant operations and maintenance. Directly involved in the launch of simulation technology and the first training program conversion in over 60 years, I was responsible for extensive cross-department coordination, training, supervision, and local compliance procedural development among Naval students, Department of Defense leadership, and Department of Energy contractors. It was on me to direct day-to-day tasks for submarine propulsion plant operators - from routine maintenance to complex risk analysis and contingency planning. I created training material and examinations for nuclear-trained personnel. I also developed and led lecture-based training on complex reactor plant theory and operation principles.Key Achievements:● Named 2017 Command Sailor of the Year as Machinery Division Leading Petty Officer/Acting Machinery Division Leading Chief Petty Officer for driving 80% increase in division-wide qualification and exam performance and 50% boost to maintenance productivity. ● Certified and appointed by Commanding Officer to become qualified Engineering Watch Supervisor in 2016; consistently maintained safe and efficient nuclear power plant operations while coordinating all electric, reactor, and mechanical system operations.● Managed implementation and conversion to electronic training program and created SharePoint hub to streamline all aspects of day-to-day Engineering Department operations while serving as Training Assistant from 2015 - 2017.

Earlier in my career, I supervised training for prospective nuclear operator students transitioning to at-sea power plant operation following my own initial training. My role was to train and certify individuals on best practices for performing organizational-level maintenance and operations on mechanical systems for submarine nuclear propulsion plants. I made sure our staff complied within Naval safety mandates, adhered to governing directives, and applied sound engineering practices concerning radiological controls, water chemistry control, and reactor analyses.
