Approximately one year later I was invited back to manage, and support, the operations group through another restructure.

    I was the account manager responsible for establishing EDS’ business relationship with the New Zealand Department of Corrections. I was successful: winning and delivering one of the largest, and more complex, IT contracts signed in New Zealand during 1998. The Department required a new infrastructure to support the roll out of a central offender management system. This required 70 LANs across 212 sites, supporting 5,000 devices (PCs, Notebooks and Printers) - all installed and running within three months of the contract start. The delivery of this involved installing new cabling in all sites, the sale and configuration of the LAN equipment and the centralised management of secure LANs and host servers (Mainframe and UNIX systems).
