I am an experienced software professional who thrives on bridging teams and creating solutions that have a positive impact on people's lives and businesses. I started my career as a missile systems engineer, which gave me a great general foundation in system design, analysis, troubleshooting and problem solving. Later, I transitioned into Software Product Management and Software Development Management, particularly with small, agile, growing companies.After getting my MBA, I initially worked on software development and system integration tools which gave me a solid understanding of object-oriented, modern programming languages and frameworks, and multi-tier, database driven systems. Later, as Passkey's first product manager and employee with a technical background, I was instrumental in creating, growing and managing a successful ‘Software as a Service’ (Saas) for the hospitality and meetings industry that processed over $3 Billion in hotel reservations per year. At Zipcar I grew the team to 120 employees and contractors and directed the development of the new Zipcar platform including several new product offerings. With a strong ability to connect business needs to technology solutions, I've been able to create a positive, fun, 'can do' culture. I've applied Agile's Scrum framework to bring teams together and make them accountable while also facilitating transparency across the organization. My system analysis and problem solving capabilities keeps technical teams productive and streamlines the translation of user stories to technical audiences. Similarly, I have a talent for making technical concepts and capabilities accessible to a broad range of stakeholders and engaging these stakeholders to positively influence the direction and creation of solutions.
