Our biggest project was rewriting the backend systems for Grindr once their popularity skyrocketed. We successfully brought their hosting bill down from $1M per month to $86k per month over the course of 3-4 months. I was the lead engineer and architect on the project. -

My role was lead engineer as well as technical lead and technical manager for the project. We launched 2 weeks after Google Plus launched, and our product was extremely similar. Unfortunately neither social network passed the test of time, but it was a great experience.
