I was originally hired as Operations Director and, in September 2010, was promoted to lead Finance, HR, Legal, Property and the Group Services Division delivering all financial functions, analysis and support for the UK, US and Spanish Group companies. As a member of the Group Board my remit also includes setting and executing strategy with the Chairman, Managing Director and Board of Directors, which included digital transformation of the Group. I led the relationship with lawyers, auditors and bankers in the UK, Europe and the US.• Led a business restructure leading to seven divisions delivering significant yearly savings and facilitating sales and marketing accountability, scaling and growth focus.• Structured, completed and integrated seven acquisitions including company and asset (websites) acquisitions across UK, US and Spain. • Restructured year end process, tendered and renegotiated audit and tax provision and reduced annual costs by 35%.

Milkround Online is a network of recruitment websites focusing on graduates. Acquired by News Corp in 2006, Milkround experienced revenue growth of over 50% and headcount increase of 90% between 2006 and 2009. I was hired into a Board level role to lead the Finance, Marketing, Web Product Development, HR, Creative and Office Management functions. I operated as the lead contact between Milkround and News Corporation devising company and product strategy with the Managing Director and advising on financial, commercial and market issues impacting the organisation.• Successfully integrated Milkround into News Corporation, including the leadership of a small scale SAP implementation.• Delivered process and system improvements to reduce monthly reporting times by 70%.• Disciplined cost and staff performance management contributed to consistent minimum 25% EBITDA margin y-o-y through a volatile growth period.

I was deployed to the BBC Group Finance Project Team to restructure the finance and reporting functions as part of a transition project. • Re-stated the 2006/07 budget for Group Ledger division for the new enterprise model.• Transferred Group Ledger from previous practices to new future finance initiative practices.• Created the financial reporting framework for the Restoration Fund Charitable Trust and operated as the Treasurer.

I was hired as a Management Accountant for Strategy and Distribution which transmitted BBC output across various platforms and offered strategic planning services. I provided business partnering to the Strategy and Distribution Divisional Directors and Controllers, prepared monthly reporting packs and worked with infrastructure suppliers to negotiate partnership contracts, modelling long term project costs and cashflows and outlining risks and opportunities.

I was hired as a Management Accountant for Group Finance, a division which funded central projects, such as Freeview and was responsible for flow of licence fee funding. Group Ledger held BBC’s central balance sheet, including VAT, corporation tax, bank accounts, investments in subsidiaries and intra-group trading balances. I assisted in Group statutory account preparation, reconciling audit and IFRS adjustments and prepared the monthly Group Ledger.
