Corporate Learning Mgr | Product Trainer | Music LoverDelta Faucet Company is the only company I’ve ever worked for. For over 31 years, I’ve held positions in a wide range of departments, including Retail Sales, Customer Solutions, and Marketing. But it was in the Testing Lab that I learned a lesson that stays with me today. Aerospace Engineer Wernher Von Braun once said, “One good test is worth a thousand expert opinions.” We ran thousands of tests when I was there - some worked, some didn’t. The point is that no matter what other people think, you have to be willing to try different things and keep at it until you find what works.As Corporate Learning Manager, I help develop and deliver Influencer Outreach events that are geared toward showroom associates, designers, and builders, serving as both facilitator and presenter. Much of what we do involves logistics and planning, but I would say 75 percent is communication. Our goal is to help educate our guests so they can learn about our brands and how our products work. This helps them do their jobs better. My parents are both teachers and had a significant influence on my life, which is why I’m particularly passionate about training. Early in my career at Delta I gave facility tours, sharing information and building rapport with visitors. I enjoy that process and continue to share my knowledge today so that others can learn. We encourage our participants to come and “raise their hand,” be curious, and ask the question. One of my passions outside of the office is music. I play the guitar and I’d love to one day be a part of an acoustic performance with a singer or in a trio. I vacation every year with my family at Branson, Missouri on Table Rock Lake, where we enjoy fishing, boating and being on the water. And my wife and I have subcontracted and built two houses together, which was exhausting but thrilling. No matter what, I try to help others learn, foster positive relationships and live in the moment.
