About Scott Baldwin

With two decades of experience as a software engineer and development leader, I remain passionate about orchestrating the seamless flow of value through the entire software lifecycle. My focus on the big picture helps me drive the development, automation, and management of production applications.Of the many things I have learned in my career, I have discovered that kindness, respect, and vulnerability are desperately needed to counter the negativity in the world. While speaking at DevOpsDays Austin one year, I even sang an adaptation of "Imagine" (John Lennon) about pride, ego, and caring for others.Volunteering and giving back to the communities around me helps remind me that I have a lot to learn. As an organizer of DevOpsDays Austin for 10 years I saw how amazing people are made greater through their give-back. As a religious education teacher of youth, I have a new appreciation for creativity in making difficult concepts relatable. I am involved in my church and previously led a congregation of 100+ active members.I love being a husband and father of 4 kids. I enjoy physical fitness. I ran my first marathon in 2015 with my wife. I play actively play tennis. I enjoy running obstacle course races and one of my favorite races is the Ragnar Trail relay race.Over the years, I've been recognized as a high achiever, earning accolades such as the "Pinnacle of Excellence" at Axis41 and the title of "Culture Champion" at WellMatch. I take pride in fostering open and honest communication within teams by genuinely caring about individuals, a quality that has led to a positive and collaborative team environment.I strive to ensure that every voice is heard, a practice that has proven crucial for driving continuous improvement, particularly at WellMatch. I generally thrive in smaller organizations where I can use multiple skills and talents. At Ancestry.com, development and automation experience helped me introduce continuous delivery in my role as Agile coach. At Premier Fitness Camp, I helped the business narrow their focus on few things rather than several concurrent initiatives. Even in a large organization (IBM), I was recognized by division leaders for pioneering Agile in our division.I have been full-time remote worker (home office) for 5+ years. My specialties are Agile, Scrum, Continuous Delivery, Automating Infrastructure, Software engineering, Linux, and trying to make people around me happy.

Listed skills include Agile Methodologies, Scrum, Agile Project Management, Web Services, and 35 others.
