KYVA Analytics creates data visualizations to help organizations in three important areas: data culture, data literacy, and building/opening capacity within their teams.Examples of work created include advanced interactive data dashboards for both external and internal use, Tableau training, knowledge expertise and consulting in education, workforce, state longitudinal data systems, and more. We also partner with agencies applying for grants by strengthening their applications, by offering analytical/evaluation capabilities and creation of visualization tools.As a small business, we provide a personal experience with the quality of large corporations.We have worked with K12, Postsecondary, State Longitudinal Data Systems, Nonprofits, Health and Family Services, Community and Technical College Systems, Workforce Development, Adult Education, and more!

Established a data visualization plan and strategy that included data governance, design process, and stakeholder engagement to expand reporting capacity. I used SQL, SAS, and Tableau on large data sets for the analysis of education and workforce policy research. I help produce reports that go out to different parts of the state government, education agencies (Early Childhood, K-12, Postsecondary, etc.), and school districts. I also meet with representatives from different agencies to discuss potential analyses, reports, and project management. Recent goals that were achieved include creating data visualizations through the use of Tableau to increase the access to high quality education data for stakeholders.

The Strategic Data Project partners with school districts, charter school networks, and state education agencies to bring high quality research methods and data analysis to bear on strategic management and policy decisions that effect K-12 education in America. As a data fellow, my capstone, the Kentucky Postsecondary Feedback Report, evaluated major programs at all Kentucky public and private colleges/universities, linked wages and employment over time by institution, major, and credential level for graduates, displayed transfer student patterns, and mapped the origins of students' residences to the college in which they enrolled.This report has been used by Institutional Research groups in multiple Kentucky postsecondary institutions.

I was promoted to lead project manager for a nationwide study involving physical therapy interventions. I conducted statistical analyses using SAS macros to produce tables, graphs, and statistics for conferences and eventual publication. I created tables and listings for expected descriptive statistics and produced executive summaries that describe statistical findings so that it is easily communicated to others at conferences, presentations, and scholarly articles. I helped with data entry using REDCap to create forms, surveys, and data files. I contributed to statistical consultations with investigators to summarize research questions, sample size estimations, and discuss project management. I also used Qualtrics and REDCap to create surveys for information regarding Health Department funding.

I researched pharmaceutical data to help create reports and summaries of information such as addiction prevention techniques, prescription drug related deaths, etc. I compiled government, medical, and insurance contacts to improve the marketability of PillGuard. I assisted the CEO with various data entry tasks, research questions, and calls with medical professionals. I also assembled information (e.g. mortality rates, tables, reports) regarding prescription drug abuse for consultations.

I created and led two introductory statistics courses that covered basic statistical concepts and methodology. I also introduced a non-traditional method of teaching known as interteaching that allowed students various forms of learning the material in hopes of not only having better comprehension but longer retention of the information.

I computed economic and health related variables based on the Medical Expenditure Survey. I wrote technical reports including interpreting, summarizing, and communicating data results. I produced Excel spreadsheets to create charts, run formulas, and track data for economic data. I developed web-based training programs to improve researcher efficiency and accuracy of data. I instructed nationwide research training that improved data collection. I reported data and results to supervisors and branch chiefs at weekly meetings. I corrected training documents from previous years to improve production of newly hired employees. I also passed extra courses on SAS programming to improve coding techniques.
