About Scott Shirley

As the founder and CEO of Pledge It, I have been leading the innovative fundraising platform for nearly a decade. I have a passion for empowering the athletes in all of us to raise funds for various causes by leveraging the power of performance. I have also received several awards and honors for my work, including the Forty Under 40, the Good Men of 2015, and the Alumni Achievement Award. My background in sports philanthropy is rooted in my personal experiences. When my father was diagnosed with a rare disease while I was playing football at Penn State, I organized the inaugural Lift For Life event with my teammates. This inspired me to create Uplifting Athletes, a national nonprofit that supports the rare disease community through sport. Since then, I have partnered with hundreds of professional athletes, major college sports teams, and national organizations like the American Cancer Society and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to create impactful and innovative fundraising campaigns. I am driven by the vision of using sport as a force for good in the world.

Daybreak Church started in November of 1999 with a dream for a different kind of church. A place where people would be welcome to come as they are, but not stay that way. A place where people could engage in vital relationships, develop, and grow. A place where people could live a vibrant life of faith as they develop and deepen a relationship with Jesus.Daybreak's Governing Board is composed of select members of the Ministry Board, as well as the Team of Lead Pastors (voting members), and the Treasurer & Secretary (non-voting members). As the Generosity Initiative Director, I worked with a team of volunteers under the direction of a consultant to engage our Church family in a unique and challenging discipleship journey.
