Scott Sisun is an intellectual property attorney with over twenty years of experience in trademark and copyright law. A former Trademark Examining Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Scott brings an insider’s perspective to the intricacies of the Trademark Office process. His experience also includes advising on and monetizing brands, representing clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), and enforcing and defending client IP rights. Additionally, Scott is an adjunct professor of trademark law and USPTO trademark practice at New York Law School. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Scott earned his JD and Masters of Law in Intellectual Property from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Scott has been recognized as “craft[ing] finely honed trademark strategies for a wide-ranging and sophisticated clientele” in the World Trademark Review 1000 list of Leading Trademark Professionals. He has also been honored by Super Lawyers for his outstanding work in trademark law. For a number of years Scott also commuted to Washington D.C. from NYC to mentor emerging companies in the areas of trademark and copyright considerations with the PeaceTech Accelerator. Before founding Sisun Law, Scott refined his skills at several prominent nationally recognized law firms and served as a judicial law clerk to Judge John A. O'Shaughnessy.In addition to his legal practice, Scott actively contributes to the intellectual property community. He has served on various committees, including the Fashion Law Committee of the New York City Bar and the Trademark and Unfair Competition, Internet Committee, ICANN Subcommittee, and Enforcement Subcommittee of the International Trademark Association (INTA).
